ABOUT OUR STUDIO

Located in Chelsea, The Lindner Studio has been one of New York’s premier studios for over thirty years. Our staff includes experienced photographers, artists, and designers who are intelligent and caring people. Experts at what we do, we are devoted to guiding our clients through the process of all their photographic needs.

David Lindner

David comes from four generations of professional photographers. His mentor was Philippe Halsman, the legendary Life Magazine cover photographer. With grants in the arts, he specialized in dance, theater, portraiture, and published the magazine Dance Life. As a photographer, David’s subjects have ranged broadly: from the President of the United States (congressmen, governors and mayors, too) to school children; from gangsters to firefighters; from the world’s greatest ballet dancers to tango pros to jazz dancers and musicians; from boxers to circus performers; from rock stars and celebrities to performers from virtually all over the world. David’s art photography has been shown in numerous galleries, museums and books. In 2004 he was honored with a United States postage stamp featuring his performance photography of America’s greatest choreographer, George Balanchine.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US:

“David was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was great at communicating (emails, texts and phone calls!) with me from afar and was willing to be flexible with my schedule and location. He is so professional and knowledgeable about posing and light. We are thrilled with all our photos (head-shots, couples, extended family, kids). I would absolutely recommend The Lindner Studio for all of your memory making needs!” Debra Lytle, on Yelp

"David, Your pictures are the best ever taken of me. You are a consummate professional."       Tony Schwartz, CEO, The Energy Project

"I immediately realized I was in the hands of an expert professional who cares deeply about his craft and his client. Furthermore, he made the experience a pleasure."       Jaime A El Koury, Partner, Cleary Gottlieb Steen&Hamilton LLP

"We hired David for the two most important client events of our 75th Anniversary (including the Picasso exhibit at The Whitney Museum). He exceeded our expectations. His work transcends and stands apart from other photographers. We will continue to harness David's talent and professionalism for all of our firm's marketing needs."       Debra Reichman, Marketing Manager, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP

“I have had to the opportunity to work with David Lindner as our official photographer for 3 large Meditation and Wellness events (2 of them at Lincoln Center) and multiple smaller events. David is a master at bringing the event and people alive! He captures the emotion and feeling of the moment / person vs. taking just a pretty picture - for me that is priceless! Working with David is easy and once you begin to work with him, you don't want to work with anyone else!” Ruchika Lal, American Express Vice President & General Manager for Strategy & Business Development. Art of Living representative

''I'd seen what David Lindner can do, but when I watched him assembling a hundred and fifty members of our firm in front of the Stock Exchange, I was amazed at both the precision and apparent ease with which he did it. With traffic stopped and a host of other challenges, this was a near impossible venture. But it was a huge success."        John Rumely, Director of Marketing, Hawkins, Delafield & Wood LLP

"When I look at the great range of David's work, I am struck both by the quality and the simplicity of his photos. Whether it was the executive portraits he did for us under great time constraints or the holiday event photographed literally in the middle of a three-ring circus, David handled it with perfect poise."         Heather Grayson, Partner, Rhodes Associates

"What an amazing job ... spontaneous moments and natural portraits that glow with loving feelings. You and your staff masterfully created the wedding album and video of my daughter's dreams."        R. Bard, Editor/Publisher, MANHATTAN BRIDE magazine

''Your work, is more than wedding photography - it's art.      Ann Klein, Bride
